A simple rear extension opens up the combined kitchen and dining space to provide a missing connection to the west facing garden and the evening sun.

A combined ground floor WC and utility room are introduced improving the live-ability of the dwelling - hiding noisy appliances and creating more storage. Simplification of drainage pipework reduces the visual clutter externally allowing a palette of new complementary materials to echo the existing dark red-brick base.
